Nashville Art Crawl/Second Act, 2019

June 1st, 2019, was an exciting day for me. It was the public opening of my show, Second Act, at The Arts Company on 5th Avenue, downtown Nashville. I never thought that the black and white photography I started as a fun hobby in Italy in 2015 would actually lead to a solo show of my work. Crowds turned out for the First Saturday Art Crawl, and I brought my camera to document the evening. The young woman fascinated me – she was dressed like a European movie star from the 1950’s, perfect for b&w, and I got the shot as she contemplated one of my pieces while standing in front of my name. The fifth shot shows one of the walls of my photos in the gallery, and the last is the ad that The Arts Company placed in the Nashville gallery guide. I was honored that one of my photos was chosen to represent the gallery. Anne Brown, the pioneering owner of The Arts Company, retired later that year, and the gallery rebranded as Chauvet Arts.
